Overview

Importing and exporting data is important when starting up new database services. We will focus our description here on how one can import data into RonDB, but also some words on how to export data out of RonDB. We will also cover backup and restore from one RonDB cluster to another, or to use a backup to restore data after some problem.

There are many possible variants for import and export, we will focus on describing the ones that are the recommended methods. These chapters will provide an overview of methods to import and to export data from or into RonDB, also how to backup and restore in RonDB. It will not even attempt to make a detailed description of the tools themselves. This is nicely covered by the MySQL manual.

We will focus our description on the preferred methods for RonDB.
